ANCESTOR FIGURE WITH SLEEPY EYES; the figure representing a rare sculptural Nigerian art (Sokoto region) that may portray a person in trance. Alternatively, many early cultures are known to have elevated persons with deformities to the status of shamans; that may be the case here.  Early First Millenium (or before).
