A SCYNTHIAN BRONZE HELMET; the hemispherical helmet has arched eye openings with ridged edges and a central rib running from between the eyes to the top of the head, where it meets a thick loop. About an inch up from the bottom of the helmet is a row of equally spaced holes to which a neck guard of mail was attached. The so-called Kuban type of helmet was used by the Scythians in Central Asia and the northern Black Sea area.
